First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown
First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown is woven into the fabric of Americana. It is living history. How many congregations do you know that have existed long enough to bear witness to 18 British monarchs; 47 U.S. Presidents; the Revolutionary War; the Civil War; President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation; two World wars; and the advent and evolution of technology?
If these walls could talk, they could recount to you the entire history of the United States.

Once Upon a Time...
When The Dudes were approached by Rev. Wood in September of 2020, as with many trying to navigate their way through COVID restrictions, the leaders of the old historical church again needed to embrace and integrate new technology into their halls. Originally built prior to the introduction of electricity, the Church was renovated to accommodate the utility in 1916.

Now, over 100-years later, they needed to incorporate a video streaming system to help reach people convalescing from illness as well as members stuck in their homes due to seemingly irrational regulations.

With the knowledge of their current goals and budget, the Stream Dudes created a simple, yet effective, two-camera streaming workflow built around a v-Mix based Dude Rack. The system was affordable, easy to install, and jump-started this historic church's participation in 21st century technology.
“Thanks for helping this 345 year old congregation stream its services to a 21st century audience.”
Reverend Dr. Ronald Wood,
Interim Pastor
About First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown
The First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown is a church with a difference. Our sanctuary is a historical landmark for the whole community. We have grown up with Smithtown, but with blessings come responsibilities. Our church is not only old; it is open. Community organizations utilize our facilities as much as our congregation does. We see ourselves as more than that old church on the corner. We believe we are on the corner of the love of God and the love of neighbor.
Faith in Jesus Christ is extremely important to us. We believe that faith is not only spoken but lived. We are an open church, not only open to the community, but open to those on a journey. Ours is a welcoming family that has a big heart for those who are hurting, have lost their way and want to start over. We are certainly not perfect, and, for that reason, we cherish God's love and grace. We seek to welcome others as we ourselves have been welcomed by Jesus Christ.
We are aware that many people are moving into our community and relocating to this area. We are excited to share the good news of the gospel. Our doors are open. Come visit one of our services and taste our hospitality. Together we may discover more to life on this wonderful journey of faith.
